THE NOTHINGNESS OF NOW
OUR NEW EP
OUR NEW EP
Let’s Set Sail is a band from Dublin that began as a songwriting project for two university students, studying classical music composition. The project has gradually evolved into a 4-piece band, tastefully blending acoustic and synthetic textures to produce well-crafted electronic folk songs. These songs contain honest, relatable lyrics that often permeate the music with a distinctly Dublin flavour.
Let Set Sail's EP, 'The Nothingness of Now', is out now on Homebeat Presents.
"With a cacophony of textures and skilful arranging, this is an entirely stunning body of work. You're unlikely to find something directly comparable with their unique sound." - Hot Press
"...a delightful mix of ambient folk and upbeat electronic sounds with honest vocals from Warren McCarthy that stick true to his Dublin roots. A nostalgic home bred feel is consistent throughout the EP." - Nialler9
"[About lead track, 1560 Powell] A masterfully slow-burning effort from the quartet, the track marries Warren McCarthy’s vocals with twinkling synth patterns and textured atmospherics. Disentangling over six minutes, Marian Hughes's subtly-woven counter harmonies seal the deal, conjuring the likes of Julia Holter and Low’s Mimi Parker." - The Thin Air
"'1560 Powell' finds Let's Set Sail creating an atmospheric epic over the course of six minutes. Taking in minimalist pulses of rhythm, deeply set textures and a gently portrayed vocal, the single unfolds itself into a multi-faceted example of the group's distinct sound" - The Last Mixed Tape, Song of the Week
